Description:

Retek’s Epoxy Zinc Rich Phosphate Primer is a primer and is in effect cold galvanizing. The Zinc metal in the coating has the effect of coating the steel surface with zinc metal due to electrochemical action affording protective similar to that given by hot galvanizing. Cures to a hard tough film. We offer a light grey or a light green colour, which comes in a pre-measured kit form.

Recommended uses:

General anti corrosive two-component primer over steel surfaces. Retek Epoxy Zinc Rich Phosphate Primer may also be used as an intermediate coat, with a Retek Poly Urethane top coat. Or a 3 component system; Epoxy Zinc Rich Phosphate Primer, Amour Coating and Poly Urethane Top Coat.

• Structural Steel
• Pipes in the petrochemical and chemical processing and other facilities

Product Properties:

• Easily applied by Mohair Roller / Epoxy Pile Roller, brush, spray and airless spray.
• High durability coating with excellent mechanical strength. (Dropping sharp and or heavy objects could damage the coating)
• Cures to a tough coating, requires a top coat.
• 250 Microns thick coating (per layer applied with roller)
• Available in a light green or a Light grey colour.

5kg – 15 sqm at +/- 250 microns; (applied by roller)
25kg – +/- 75sqm at +/-250 microns (applied by roller)

Number of Coats:

We recommend 1 coat Retek Zinc Rich Phosphate Epoxy Primer with a Poly Urethane Top coat. A Retek Amour Coating can be used as an intermediate coating.
